About Us
Global Initiative to Advance Entrepreneurship (GIVE) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that was founded to address urban poverty in the developing world. Over the past 15 years, we’ve pursued projects in Indonesia, Cambodia and the United States that focused on basic entrepreneurial skills as a means of alleviating global poverty.
GIVE is supporting projects in the United States and SE Asia that leverage entrepreneurship to address specific local challenges as a means to alleviate poverty and provide innovative solutions.
Bangkok Cat Society
Bangkok Cat Society (BCS) is a community-based initiative working to reduce the suffering of street cats in Bangkok, Thailand. We have supported this project since 2019, which uses a comprehensive methodology that combines sterilization, medical care, feeding, and community partnerships to integrate cat welfare into local neighborhoods.
What makes BCS different is its approach: the program is designed not just to save cats, but to link animal welfare with broader social benefits, creating community-driven economic opportunities where they are most needed.
Why we support this project
We support Bangkok Cat Society because it represents a new model for cat welfare. The project is pioneering ways to incorporate social entrepreneurship into animal protection, turning community cat care into a vehicle for job creation and economic opportunity.
Working with Buddhist temples and community leaders, the project is building bridges between social need and animal welfare. And by focusing on low-income neighborhoods and urban communities overlooked by traditional programs, BCS aims to support residents while building a sustainable approach to managing cat populations.
